DBZ,

Thank you for your help so far.
Everything is working TradeStation 8.1 and owndata 2.4 connecting to IB.
But i find that TradeStation hangs frequently.
i've read that there are many processes that need to "killed" as they do not shutdown
is this normal and to be expected?

Also it seems i must create a new workspace everytime i start TradeStation.
which means i need to add all my charts all over again. it is a pain.

would 8.2 make a difference? 8.3? newer version of owndata?
it seems rather clunky and if it is like this i might as well stay on 2000i.

any thoughts on what may help?

thanks

utechu

DBZ,

First of all thank you so much for this release very kind of you to make it accessible to the less fortunate out there.

I just wanted to ask whether this release includes Radar Screen?

Cheers

Peace.....

JoeDom I'm fully aware of the fact that you need to keep some sort of order within the forums and hence why you have extensive guidelines and rules to ensure that. I'm also aware that you've probably been exposed to all sorts of individuals since this site has opened and probably have a tendency to pigeon hole posts instantly without fully considering what has been said.

I point you to one of the statements made in your rules and guidance notes:

Quote:
Posters spend their valuable time to add value to our website. We expect our readers to be responsible and do something in return. Your participation will encourage them to contribute more, so your effort (even if it looks small) counts too

Given the fact that DBZ spent his valuable time adding value by contributing a release would it not be natural to acknowledge his generosity in making it accessible to the less fortunate out there? I mean isn't this a site which prides itself of on being "friendly" to traders? Especially to traders who contribute selflessly?

The definition of begging in the English dictionary and probably the one you’re referring to is: to ask for as a gift, as charity, or as a favour”

I would like clarification on where in my previous post have I asked for anything as a gift, charity or as a favour? I only did two things, acknowledge DBZ and ask a question about the release.

I beg you to see sense

Network Login Problem

Should the network login box appear everytime you start Tradestation with this release?

I have an active data feed and have OwnData . I've followed the instructions and have configured OwnData properly. The problem is I can't get it to feed data to TradeStation because I keep having to work offline in TS. Does this release allow for real-time data?

Cheers

Ninja, you should go to TSSupport site and look for Owndata video tutorial then you shouldn't have problem.

Voyage,

Setting up OwnData is not the problem. I've got live data pumping into OwnData. The problem is Tradestation. I was asking whether this release of Tradestation supports real-time data?

Obviously it can be used in off-line mode but some posts in this thread suggest that OwnData is required. Does that mean this Tradestation release can be used live or is it only for EOD data?

Cheers

If you already got Owndata working, why would you have problem feeding it to Tradestation in offline mode? All fixed TradeStation versions are meant to be working in offline mode with Owndata with live realtime data that's in Owndata supported datafeed list. Simple as that.

I have never experience any fixed TradeStation versions (if fixed correctly) that won't work with Owndata supported realtime datafeeds.
