What's your goal in trading?

Why do you want to trade? What's your purpose?

What do you expect to get from trading?

Show me your thoughts. :p

Hi DarkElite,

My answer is:

(1) To earn money/wealth.

(2) Become a rich man like W.Buffet. Trading is my part time job.
It keeps me busy.

(3) Learn money management, keep patience and this experience effect other
part of our life.

Good question DarkElite.

It's something I've struggled with, to be honest.

I think it's at the core of a trader's success, or lack thereof. As a great trader (I think) once said, "The markets give everyone exactly what they're looking for."

In my own trading, it has meant I had to teach myself how to focus on really "wanting" to make money, as opposed to wanting action, a trader's high, the thrill of risk-taking, self-punishment, etc.

It sounds petty, and it probably is, but for me it was a great struggle.

As a technical trader market trading is a fair game. Some people will blame the market makers or big players who fooled them into the trade and losing money. But no one focused you to trade in either direction. The final decision is yours.

You actually have 50% winning percentage according to Probability Theory. The stock market is either up or down. It seems it is not hard to win the 50% game. However over 90% lose this 50% game. Why?

If you want to win the market trading game you have to treat market trading as a career or a busines. You will lose if you play it like a game. This is a game but a SERIOUS one.

Our goals? Nearly every, not to say every, trader or speculator wants money in the game. Money is their goal. What else do you think they want? Ask horse betters why they watch horse racing and the reasons are about the same.

No money no market.
