: Who is getting benefitted?

hi

I would like to pose a question here to all old members.

As you know a person who wants to download something he needs to have wealth points which he can only earn by sharing something from his/her side, but ppl who joined recently like me could not earn them as anything they want to share it already shared.

So, what I understand from the whole process that the administrator of this site is the only person who is getting benefitted, as we all try to share our limited resourses which we have and at the end comes to know that it has already been shared and administrator got it for free.

So, this is a big scandal going out here.

take care

bye

Yes, it is true, firs come first will get more points as in competition.
I surfed other forums and there is no other like this one. Full of images, complete with descriptions and anecdotes, comments and suggestions.
Here I notice moderators and admins do not like members whinning or crying. They keep a professional standard of competition.

Also what they say about other forums full of "begging" people, I see here is well controlled, because one of the reason I like here is that here you do not listen members who just come here to request and request and not even give back a dime back as a tip.

Sites that allow all for free will make members lazy and forget sharing. Here they force members to think and find a way to be creative and contribute back to the membership base and that is what I call competition.

Just my humble thinking going into here for guys who just plan to come back to just leech off nice stuff other members has contributed back with much effort.

There will be a lots of unuseful post (junk post) if there's no WealthPoint appliance.

" There will be a lots of unuseful post (junk post) if there's no WealthPoint appliance."

I disagree. I am a member of a number of private torrent sites which rather than being submission based ( not everyone has access to useful/desirable material) grant downloading privilege based on seeding ratio. In that way anyone who is a member can add value to the site.
Although I disagree with the wealthpoint system and see it as being somewhat hypocritical, it is not my site and my opinion is of very little importance. The fact is I am interested in becoming a contributing member and feel that overall this is a very well managed forum. I trust that overall things will trend towards what works best for everyone.

Umesh:

Not at all only mods getting benifited. The W$ system is for something which forces u to contribute. The whole system is based on unique stuff sharing. Share what u got, if its not here. and get paid. U may see many of the active members r getting benifit of it. U need to be active to benifit. Search for unique stuff. and share them here.

As far as i know, there is no junk yard in this site. This is one of the best sites.

Just be here, spend sometime. And enjoy .

Ok, based on your opinions I will explain why we need the wealthpoints system.
I must admit, that assigning Wealthpoints everyday and testing all the dozens of resources getting into my hands is a task that no one will withstand for a long time.

If it were for me I would basically make the site free for all and get what you want for all, but you need to take into consideration that financial resources like the stuff we are dealing with are not so easily gotten everywhere. There is sort of an artificially made scarcity of this type of content and I wonder why?

No file, if any, is stored on our servers. Only external download links
are provided by third party file sharing/hosting services like badongo,
divshare, fileden, filefactory, filefront, mediafire, megaupload,
megashares, mihd.net, multiply.com, rapidshare, rapidsharing,
rapidupload, turboupload, sendspace, sexuploader, uploading.com, zshare, zupload etc. <span style="font-size: 100%;">(Disclaimer: The owner of this site is
not responsible for any content made by anyone else in the forum. The owner does not sell or own anything here. The contents are provided "as-is". Please support the developers if you like their products/services. They need your money to support their fine research and work.)</span><br />
[Hidden Content]
Our Wealthpoints system is patented by our defunct founder (yosewe). Using the Wealthpoints system you can get all the top stuff you want as long as you work toward it in several contibutions. There are no level restrictions or complicated acces levels to thinker about. This way I do not give preference to anyone; if you share what is correct, you get what you want.

I hope you people get to know me more and I, myself profoundly wish that someday we can really stop using Wealthpoints so everyone can get heir lives easier, but until that day comes, I will strive to make yours as easy and rewarding as possible.

Likewise, and well put.
The naive solution is to make everything available to everyone, but as you have pointed out, due to the limited availability of cracked ware you would simply be swamped.
As per my last post I have seen private trackers run very well based on a seed/leach ratio system. You drop below a certain ratio for a certain period, you're gone, when your ratio is X you are allowed Y downloads, etc etc. Although I am sure you have considered a similar setup for YSW I think I can guess why you have not implemented such a system to date.
I have to admit though, I am curious as to why your DL's are not done via torrents.

One suggestion, take your old inventory, things that are getting very little attention and turn them into free DL's via torrents. Reward those that seed well past a 1:1 ratio. In turn you, 1. Keep potentially useful systems from being lost to the novelty of the next best thing and 2. Provide another way for users to add value to the site.

Thanks for your last post, it's great to see an interested admin.

I'm agree with the wealth point.

But sir, when I want to download some stuff here, sometimes it needs a great number of points. It confused Me, even I have no more stuff to submit.

Sir, could I buy the wealthpoint by subscription or paypal or something?<--- Buy ? This is the way how you corrupt well intentioned Admins like me, by offering them $$$(joedom_admin).

Ben Mossberg:

The Torrent System:
I have been using the torrent system (Azureus) since 2004. At first I used to play by their ratio rules and all the tid for tad concepts. Then later I started to read how the torrent system worked. It did not pass much time until I found a very simple conceptual way to "defeat" the torrent ratio system at various torrent sites like: torrentleech.org, filelist.org and pussytorrents.org:p.They all use the same tracker method of keeping the upload/ download points.
What I do is to basically turn on my PC at night and leave it downloading several gigabytes from these torrents by just uploading just 20-30MB. So after downloading like 200GB or even more I still have a positive ratio of 8-9.0.
So I find the torrent methodoogy not reliable because it can easily be hacked and exploited.
Mossberg, can you list here the torrent sites you know of ? You can openly post here these sites without problem so members can benefit(and see if I can leech from them with my methodology:D).

JoeDOM_Admin (http://www.friendlytraders.com/forum/2992_78/../member.php?u=110) :
There are ways to avoid gaming on the system, as always things require vigilance. Trackers like Demonoid are great, Empornium has proven to be excellent over time. But that's because everyone is very enthusiastic about the content. It doesn't matter if there are a few people abusing the system, as long as the majority are " keeping it real" then the purpose of the site is preserved.

As far as a site which I think will soon be private but has public access now:
http://dididave.com/signuprules.php is quite good (limited content though) and has one of the best set of rules I have seen.
The problem is, unless you can get into an extremely exclusive tracker site the only content you are going to get is the stuff listed on nforce (http://www.nfohump.com) . Maybe the trick is to get on some forums and see if there is interest in getting some crackers working on Fin Ware for an exclusive site?
It's hard to know what makes those guys tick. Part of the trouble is there is WAY more demand for DVD burning ware etc, then for an options pricing system or a trading platform. Even a CAD program is more mainstream and gets tons more visibility than something like Omnitrader.

Another challenge is getting sophisticated users who understand the aesthetic of quid pro quo which would free you up from forcing it via WP's. Because of my positive experiences with sharing I have no problem uploading any valuable content I have for distribution to a like minded group. Really the only thing that bothers me with public trackers is people doing hit and runs with no repercussions. If you have a good way to analyze DL/UL ratios to prevent gaming then your community will prune itself, you get some people hitting and running but they are gone sooner than later. Another phenomenon of Fin Ware is that in many ways it is like porn, very collectible, there is always something new to test, to play with, to look at. For that reason you should always have a good flow, and it would cause users to keep coming back ie, not want to get banned.

Sorry if I am rambling, I am procrastinating on my studies.

ben_mossberg:

I discussed a lot of this with yosewe in the past.

We both agreed that distribution is not the problem. Getting to the public is not the problem.
Sites like rapidshare, mediafire, etc as well as P2P technologies like torrents and edonkey clones are all over the place to make distribution very efficient in reaching the general public. Add to that the recent blogs and forums dedicated to this activity

The root of all this lies directly in the lack of crackers. There are just not enough motivated crackers in the financial scene to make the change happen. So as long as thee is virtually no competition among reverse engineers(crackers) this scene will remain as is with crooks selling financial softwares and joedom_admins trying to make a change without going repositoryless.
When my project partner (yosewe) was alive, he agreed that for this to turn more "share" oriented we had to encourage and stimulate the active participation of knowledgeable crackers in the forum. So for that to happen we put crackers on top of the list since they are like stars and what they do, they are the source of energy. Their cracking job is considered intellectual property.

Hey Guys,

New to the board and for what it's worth here is my 2cents.

The fact that it forces people to share, in my mind, only makes this place stronger.
I can understand that there are some who don't have the access to new/quality material, but that just takes some time to search around and find sources...it sucks but it's doable.

As a newb who has some access to material I find it a bit frustrating not being able to upload what I have..if any admin could see fit to give me that permission, I'd like to start adding material to the community.

Thanks!

It's not a question of being forced/voluntary. Like minded people should help each other, that is a given. The problem is how can " I " add value to the site if I can't crack.
If were simply a case of making sure that people shared then you could do it via a well managed UL/DL ratio system and let the sharing begin.
The problem is as JOE mentioned,,,, scarcity.

The fact of the matter is, if I can skulk around the net and find some bit of Fin Ware, there is a good chance that it is already on here, or there is a good reason it is not, (dated etc)

JOE is correct, the most pressing matter is getting crackers interested in this. Perhaps one of the reasons that cracking in this field is a bit slow is that most of the coveted vendors do not offer simple trial DL's . You have to make a purchase upfront then you have X number of days in which to evaluate. That upfront purchase (multiple k's sometimes) makes it less likely that a cracker will casualy decide to play around with it. Opportunity makes the cracker,, isn't that how the saying goes?

Perhaps by making the initial purchases and providing a Yet To Be Cracked Software database, we could stimulate the scene?
Total cost after refund= Zero
Potential Gain = ???

I love the wealth point system and this site. The moderators seem great too. I don't mind contributing what I have and even digging around a bit for what others want or making any other kind of contribution I can.

I thought I had a decent collection of good stuff but after seeing what's available here, I have an entirely new perspective of my stuff. ;)

I'm new here but my initial impression towards the current pricing is that they are mildly discouraging. It seems like it will be very difficult to obtain the kinds of wealth points I need to get a few of the things I'm after. It also seems to me that this system would still work just fine if the reward to cost ratio wasn't so harsh. This is just my newbie opinion and I'm not complaining. I haven't given up. I will continue to offer what I can.

I know this would defeat the purpose but I feel I have to mention that I would certainly be one of those interested in paying for a membership to have access to some of this great stuff.

And I second Ben's yet-to-be cracked section. Seems like a decent idea.

Or how about some kind of an occasional sale or download of the week or something where the cost to reveal is temporarily set low or even to 1 or 0?
