Dear members,

At present I am using metastock 9.1. I have subscribed for eod data.
It is working well.

I got omega prosuite2000i. when I tried to read metastock data with prosuite, only very few charts are working. most of the charts showing

"no data available in the selected date range"

Kindly guide me to use omega effectivly.

Bro,
Use TradeStation 8.1 with Owndata 2.4.

It can read MetaStock EOD data well , along with ASCII n so many other supports.

Cheers

better yet use multicharts, from the makers of owndata, the data management is easier for me than using TradeStation 8x

Bro Sennal999,

The metastock import feature for Prosuite 2000i supports an older metstock format and will show data only for 250 symbols per folder.

In case you are unwilling to upgrade to tradestation 8.x and higher, there are two ways to get by this limitation:

1) Use a program like Hypertools XPO pro and convert the entire metastock database into the Globalserver XPO format and then subsequently import the XPO file inside Globalserver.

2) Split the metastock folder alphabetically symbol wise [one folder for symbols starting with A, another for B, another for C and so on ...] using the Equis Downloader Utility [ Select Source as Metastock - Target Metastock - then select options - destination tab - then select traverse destination folder ]

{ See the screen shot below }

Once the conversion is completed the files should open error free in omega prosuite without a problem.

Cheers,
